I am a sociologist and so my designs are influenced by the social world.
Jewelry influences social interactions and creates social identities.
My theme for this show is:
SHOW YOUR AGE.
As we age, women cover their knees, their legs, their arms, and even their necks.
We learn to hide our aging “ugly” body parts.
We are encouraged to correct our aging faces.
Our hands – can’t be covered or corrected. Hands show their age.
Jewelry, studies show, is the first thing others notice on us.
These rings are about wearing jewelry that will attract attention to our hands and proudly show our age.
