Born 1953 in Vancouver, graduating from Vancouver Tech Secondary in 1971 in the industrial program specializing in metal work (machine shop, foundry and sheet metal). After working in foundries and as a metal finisher in a welding department I took a welding course through the V.S.B. night school program.

In 1973 I took a full time welding course at V.C.C. and after completion I worked as a metal fabricator journeyman. I worked as a fabricator for 40 years, working for 3 different companies, retiring in 2013.

In 2004 I took an enameling course at night school. I had no idea about enameling and the connection it had to jewelry. From that time I’ve taken numerous classes in different methods of jewelry making through the V.S.B. Langara Continuing Education Program. Jewelry making is a wonderful hobby or career for anyone and it will take you through and connect you with a fascinating part of our history.
